"Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out. Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him."
Proverbs 20:5-7
The youth ministry at Calvary Baptist Church exists to glorify God by assisting parents as they seek to develop young people who are transformed inwardly and evidence this transformation outwardly through the power of the Gospel and the work of the Holy Spirit.
“That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.” Titus 2:4-5 is the impetus behind our Ladies ministries.
Mature Christian ladies are endeavoring to lead others to follow God’s instructions in this scripture through Bible Studies which are held Tuesday mornings and Sunday afternoons.
Another ministry is to meet new babies born in Watertown and their mothers. During this New Birth Visit, we are able to give helpful gifts and present the spiritual truth of the “second birth” in relation to our physical “first birth.”
All the ladies of Calvary are divided into five groups who help one another in various situations such as new babies, illness or surgery, bridal and baby showers, deaths in families, etc. These Circles are a way of meeting each other’s needs.
Because God made us social creatures, we also plan fun times for ourselves. Our Spring Celebration is a meal with a program of music, light entertainment, and a challenge from God’s Word. We have an Annual Picnic in August, when summer finally comes to Wisconsin. The favorite event for many is Craftmania, usually held in October. This is a Friday evening given to making crafts, enjoying food and fellowship, and an appropriate devotional from the Bible. Each of these events is an excellent opportunity to invite friends outside the Church, so that they may hear wonderful truths from God’s word.
Titus 2:7 says, “In all things showing thyself a pattern of good works.” This verse sums up the Ladies Ministry Fellowship of Calvary Baptist Church and allows us the privilege of expressing our love for the Lord Jesus Christ through these different avenues.
“But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; and that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make these wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” II Timothy 3:14-17
Paul indicates that spiritual training starts with infancy and progresses throughout one’s life. Spiritual ministry to people begins with teaching young children the scriptures which emphasize salvation by faith in Christ. Believers are to be taught doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness. A properly taught Christian is spiritually prepared to minister for Christ.
The Children’s Christian Education program of Calvary Baptist Church is focused on the spiritual conversion and development of children thus helping parents and the church in the process of making spiritual men and women of God.
The church provides:

Educational Excellence Is Available at CBCS:
Calvary Baptist Christian School was founded in 1970 and started out with 36 students in grades Kindergarten through 4th Grade. Over the past 36 years we have increased to over 140 students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. Our goal is to come alongside Christian parents and assist them as they follow the Biblical mandate found in Ephesians 6:4, “...bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”
CBCS strives to give a well-rounded education by meeting each child’s individual needs. The carefully chosen curriculum used in the classrooms comes from a variety of sources: ABeka, Bob Jones Press, Saxon Math, and Zaner Bloser handwriting. To help accomplish this well-rounded program, many special classes beyond the traditional curricula are available to the children. Music instruction is incorporated into every grade level which includes recorders in 4th grade, elementary band in 5th grade, and elementary choir for grades 3 - 6 and the choice of junior high choir or band. In addition, we offer a fall and winter sports program for boys and girls in grades 5 - 8. Other opportunities available to the upper elementary children include Spanish classes, art classes, home economics classes, Bible Quiz teams, and opportunity to join the nationwide MathCounts team.
The teachers at Calvary are qualified and dedicated men and women that faithfully serve the Lord at Calvary Baptist Church. Each of our 10 full-time and 5 part-time staff members has been personally called to this ministry.
