“That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.” Titus 2:4-5 is the impetus behind our Ladies ministries.

Mature Christian ladies are endeavoring to lead others to follow God’s instructions in this scripture through Bible Studies which are held Tuesday mornings and Sunday afternoons.

Another ministry is to meet new babies born in Watertown and their mothers. During this New Birth Visit, we are able to give helpful gifts and present the spiritual truth of the “second birth” in relation to our physical “first birth.”

All the ladies of Calvary are divided into five groups who help one another in various situations such as new babies, illness or surgery, bridal and baby showers, deaths in families, etc. These Circles are a way of meeting each other’s needs.

Because God made us social creatures, we also plan fun times for ourselves. Our Spring Celebration is a meal with a program of music, light entertainment, and a challenge from God’s Word. We have an Annual Picnic in August, when summer finally comes to Wisconsin. The favorite event for many is Craftmania, usually held in October. This is a Friday evening given to making crafts, enjoying food and fellowship, and an appropriate devotional from the Bible. Each of these events are  an excellent opportunity to invite friends outside the Church, so that they may hear wonderful truths from God’s word.

Titus 2:7 says, “In all things showing thyself a pattern of good works.” This verse sums up the Ladies Ministry Fellowship of Calvary Baptist Church and allows us the privilege of expressing our love for the Lord Jesus Christ through these different avenues.
